2024 King Tides

I’ve always loved how wild the Oregon Coast waves are, and this time of year, during the king tides, they’re especially dramatic and exhilarating to experience. “King tides are the highest high tides of winter in Oregon, occurring when the sun, moon, and Earth align, increasing their gravitational pull on the tides.”

The next king tides are happening December 13-15 and January 11-13, and I’m planning to head south for these. Just driving through Depoe Bay, you can get splashed by the ocean as the waves crash.
