Love what is.
The photo pictured above is from Oceanside, OR - the closest beach to our home that we often visit. I heard Byron Katie on her podcast say “Love what is.” I’ve just recently discovered her so I don’t know a lot about her teachings, but it made me ponder, do I love what is? I’ve observed my mind often looking to the future or the past but not the present. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget what is before us now and to enjoy it. Right now, right here, I’m grateful to live on the breathtaking Oregon Coast with beaches like Oceanside, and to spend my days with my daughter as a stay-at-home Mom. I’m even grateful for our teeny tiny apartment and my “office” that consists of a dresser drawer and several Rubbermaid storage containers. I’m grateful for my friend who texts me daily to check in. What are you grateful for right now? What’s in front of you? A hot cup of tea? Maybe your cat or dog? Your child? Maybe your snoring significant other on the couch? Maybe even your dirty dishes after a meal?
