Mental Health Awareness.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the critical importance of mental health. Did you know that 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiences mental illness each year? Despite being as essential as physical health, mental health care often remains less accessible and more costly.
Reflecting on my own journey, I remember how, as a teenager, I dreaded counseling. I felt alone, embarrassed, and believed there was something inherently wrong with me, rather than seeing it as a way to better navigate life. The stigma surrounding mental health was strong then, and unfortunately, it still persists today. Although progress has been made, we still have a long way to go.
Now, as an adult, I appreciate the value of counseling. I’ve gained numerous skills that help me live my best life.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s work together to break the stigma and support those in need. If you or someone you know needs help, don’t hesitate to reach out.
